How versions work
When you open an agent’s Configure tab, you always edit the draft. The draft is a working copy of the live version. Your changes are saved automatically as you type, but they do not affect the running agent until you publish.Publishing changes
When you are ready to apply your edits:1
Review your draft
Open Configure and verify your changes in Basics, Channels, Skills, or any other section.
2
Click Publish
The button label adapts to the situation:
- Publish to launch for a brand-new agent that has never been published
- Publish & restart for a running agent (it cycles to apply changes)
- Publish for a stopped agent that has been published before
3
Confirm the result
After publishing, the draft becomes the new live version. If the agent was running, it restarts automatically to pick up the changes.
Discarding a draft
If you change your mind about edits in progress, click Discard. This deletes the draft and snaps the editor back to the live version. You cannot discard the draft of a never-published agent because it has no live version to fall back to.Restoring an old version
Open the Version History dropdown in the Configure sidebar to see every previously published version. Each row shows its publish date and time. Click any row to view it, then click Restore to make it live again.Jobs persist across versions
Any jobs you have scheduled for an agent continue running even after you publish a new version. Jobs are tied to the agent itself, not to a specific version, so updating the agent’s instructions or skills does not interrupt recurring tasks.Next steps
