# Chat With a Swarm and Track Its Work in the Feed

> Send messages to a swarm, watch the leader delegate tasks to members, and review every turn in the swarm feed, outputs, and apps tabs.

Swarm chat is where you talk to the leader and receive answers. The swarm feed is the detailed record of every turn between the leader and members. Together they show you what was asked, who did what, and what the swarm produced.

## Swarm chat

The chat surface works like a direct message with the swarm leader. You type a request, and the leader replies. Behind that reply, the leader may have delegated tasks to members, gathered their results, and synthesized them into the answer you see.

When a goal is still running, the chat shows a **Working** status with a count of active members. Once the goal finishes, the status changes to **Done** and lists the agents that contributed. You can expand the process box to see the full transcript of turns inside that goal.

<Note>
  You can switch between a collapsed process view and a detailed transcript in the swarm settings. Public share links always show the detailed transcript.
</Note>

## Swarm feed

The feed is the complete, chronological log of every turn in the swarm. It shows:

* **User requests** — your messages that started each goal.
* **Delegation turns** — the leader handing work to a member.
* **Member replies** — what each member returned to the leader.
* **Task ledgers** — any subtasks created inside a goal.

The feed updates in real time via a live stream, so you can watch members work even while the leader's summary is already on screen.

## Outputs and deliverables

Everything the swarm creates is collected in the right-hand panel:

* **Outputs** tab — files, documents, and media generated by the swarm.
* **Apps** tab — dashboards and interactive apps the swarm built.
* **Details** tab — the swarm description, member list, and public chat toggle.

Deliverables persist across chat sessions, so you can return to a swarm later and download what it produced.

## Goal rail

In the detailed transcript view, a vertical dot rail appears alongside the chat. Each dot represents one of your requests. The active dot marks the goal currently in view. Click any dot to jump directly to that goal without scrolling through the entire history.

## Delegation outlives the turn

A turn ends when the leader sends you a reply, but the work it started can continue. Members may still be running after you receive the leader's message. The process box and feed continue to update as those members finish, so you always know whether work is still in flight.
